How to increase your Domain Authority (DA)

What is Domain Authority?
Domain Authority (DA) is a Moz-developed search engine ranking score that predicts how likely a website will rank in search engine result pages (SERPs). Domain Authority scores vary from one to one hundred, with higher scores indicating a higher chance of ranking.

Domain Authority is calculated using dozens of parameters and is based on data from our Link Explorer web index. The Domain Authority calculation itself employs a machine learning model to identify a "best fit" algorithm that most closely links our link data with ranks across thousands of real-world search results that we utilize as benchmarks.

What improves Domain Authority?
When it comes to Domain Authority there is one thing that is most important, "Backlinks", this is everything for scoring you DA. Backlinks come in two types
  • High Quality
  • Low Quality
DA ranking increases when you have the majority of High Quality backlinks. Now the DA also decreases when you start getting Low quality backlinks. We will be covering a different topic on how to get backlinks and specially on how to get High Quality backlinks.

How does this affect SEO?
You see Domain Authority is like your website's reliability score, search engines use your DA to determine if the content on your website is worth compared to other websites. The higher your DA score, the higher the search engines trust your website content.
